Benfleet Camera Club - Summer School 2010
St George's small church hall (next to the road)
This course is designed to run over five separate two hour evening sessions (8pm to 10pm). Starting time will be promptly at 8pm to ensure sufficient coverage of the evenings topics.
The course is structured to provide a coherent approach to digital photography, introducing beginners to the complete range of approaches and practices which will enable them to maximise their photographic experiences and satisfaction. The course is conducted at all times by means of practical demonstrations and visual aids.
Monday 31st May : Session 1:
The digital camera, its controls and settings. Aperture and shutter priority, Iso, White balance, focus zones, flash settings and exposure compensation etc. Image composition and camera quality settings.
Tuesday 8th June : Session 2:
The safe approach to basic image processing, i.e. crop, levels, adjustments, introduction to layers, actions, sharpening and file saving. Various Image editing software packages including cost free versions will be used and made available to attendees.
Explanation of file types and compression methods.
Monday 14th June : Session 3:
Colour control and image quality control during file processing, printing. and digital projection image creation. A comprehensive tutorial on use of layers and layer types.
Selection and masking will also be included
Tuesday 22nd June : Session 4:
Monochrome conversion and output using Advanced Photoshop Techniques
Tuesday 27th July : Session 5:
RAW processing and other Advanced Photoshop Techniques
Cost per evening for members is £1-50p
Visitors (subject to space) £3
This includes cost of support materials and any goodies provided as part of the course!

Please note that it will be necessary to limit attendance to approx 50 members per session due to space considerations.
